Employment agencies, when used correctly, can greatly speed up your search for jobs and help you to find the best opportunities. You will need to remember to follow a few easy steps in order to get the most out of employment agencies, though.
The first thing you will need to do is research the employment agencies out there and find the best one for your industry. Many employment agencies specialise in a few related industries, though they can often be general as well. The more specialised to your industry they are, often the better the relationships they will have and thus the better chance for them to find you a job.
Once you have chosen an employment agency and joined, you will now need to keep in contact. Employment agencies work with people who seem enthusiastic. If you just leave them to work for you, they won't. Call them every few days to see if they have any new opportunities and make sure you know exactly what kind of jobs you are after.
Not all employment agencies will interview you immediately, but when they do, be prepared for a more in-depth interview than you might otherwise expect.
